City & Country Farmers' Markets Company

We are a small company which was established
in 2001 by Chris Elder. Chris has a background in
food development and, realising the need to
encourage the public to shop more locally,
thought that setting up his own markets was the
way forward. Our first Farmers' Market in 2001
was held in the grounds of Dulwich College,
South London - a market which remains one of
our most successful to this day.

In 2004, Sophie Elder (Chris' daughter) joined the
company as it started to grow to help with the
day to day running and organisation. She also
runs the Arts & Crafts section of City & Country
as well as creating her own textile pictures in
her spare time.

We have a small team of friendly and reliable
market managers who look after our markets -
you will no doubt see them at your local
Farmers' Market from time to time!
